Kezmiché “Kim” Atterbury serves as the Senior Director of Communications and External Affairs. In this role, Kim develops and lead all communications strategy for the Washington Bureau and serves as an advisor to Senior Vice President for Policy Don Cravins and to National Urban League president and CEO Marc Morial. In addition, Kim manages external affairs and partnership opportunities for the Washington Bureau and the organization.
Previously, Kim worked as a senior strategy consultant at West End Strategy Team, where she provided strategic communications counsel to clients in the areas of branding, crisis management, media relations, public affairs and issue management. Prior to WEST, Kim served as the Director of Communications to Rep. G. K. Butterfield (NC-01) during his tenure as chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. She has also served as Communications Director to Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton (DC).  
Kim began her career on Capitol Hill as a Legislative Assistant to Rep. Alcee Hastings (FL-20). Following Hastings’ office, Kim served as Chief Legislative Aide (or Chief of Staff) and Press Secretary to former Florida State Senator M. Mandy Dawson. Kim left Dawson's office to serve in the state of Georgia's executive branch before returning to Capitol Hill in 2010. Kim is a graduate of Georgetown University’s Master of Public Relations and Corporate Communications program. She is also a proud alumna of Florida A&M University.
