NEW YORK (June 22, 2015) -- The National Urban League and its South Carolina affiliates today launched the “One Nation, One Flag” campaign in support of South Carolina legislators’ efforts to end public displays of the Confederate Flag, and promote unity around the United States Flag.

Senate Committee ESEA Rewrite Fails Civil Rights Test

Coalition of Civil Rights Organizations Weighs In on White House Task Force on 21st Century Policing and DOJ’s Decisions on Ferguson Police Department and Darren Wilson

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 7, 2015 - The Civil Rights Coalition on Police Reform applauds Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. and the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) denouncement of racially biased policing practices in Ferguson, Missouri.  The Coalition, however, hoped for a different outcome regarding the DOJ’s decision not to criminally charge Darren Wilson in the fatal shooting of Michael Brown, but understands that reforms are needed to lower the standard of proof for federal civil rights offenses.
