It’s Lifeline Awareness Week

Last week marked “National Telephone Discount Lifeline Awareness Week.” Each year during this week numerous public interest groups, organizations, and government agencies nationwide raise awareness about the Universal Service Fund’s “Lifeline Program,” which provides low-income families with a discount on telephone service.

Communities & Wi-Fi

“The Color of Wi-Fi” is a recent report released by Wi-Fi forward, a coalition dedicated to encouraging investment and growth of Wi-Fi deployment.  The new report, authored by Dr. John Horrigan and Professor Jason LLorenz, focuses on the important role publicly available Wi-Fi networks provide for African American and Latino communities.
